I recently completed my certification in Mindfulness Meditation and Breathwork facilitation from Flo Meditation and Activate+Awaken. I have a degree in Nutrition and am interested in healing the body in a holistic way. I am currently a volunteer doula on the side, I love to travel, cook, and connect with new people. Each meditation class is based upon a certain theme or intention each week (healing, love, calming, etc).
What is Mindfulness? A mentally achieved state is attained by being conscious in the present moment. It can be done any time, place, and by anyone that shows up fully engaged. For example, while you’re eating, working, exercising, as long as you’re in the present moment. Rather than always thinking about ‘what to do next. There’s a quote my meditation teacher told spoke to our class by Jon Kabat-Zinn “Mindfulness is paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment to moment.” During a guided meditation I plan to put you in a state of calming meditation with a themed intention. Each week will have a planned theme, and we can choose it as a group or I can choose for us. Ex: Calm, Self Love, Focus, etc. We start off by being mindful of the present moment, and then I will slowly do a body scan and some intentional sensory work. Sometimes you will get emotional, sometimes you won't feel anything at all. Meditation is a practice. Our bodies benefit from movement but our minds benefit from stillness. I want to remind everyone that this is a safe space, and you are in a place of choice and to do whatever you feel is best for you, listen to your body and your intuition. I look forward to meeting everyone and being still with you!
